Lanzarote received 15.6% more foreign tourists in the first quarter

In March, although it is true that this year included Easter, the increase in arrivals from foreign airports was close to reaching 20%.

In the first quarter of 2024, Lanzarote has received 767,059 foreign tourists, 15.6% more than those who arrived in the first quarter of last year, when there were 663,308 people, according to the Lanzarote Data Center based on figures from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics.

The month with the largest increase compared to last year was March, when 283,945 foreign tourists arrived, almost 20% more than the 238,330 who arrived in the same month last year. Although it is true that Easter fell in March this year, while last year it was in April.

In February, the increase was also very high. 256,515 foreign tourists arrived, almost 17% more than those who arrived in the same month last year, when there were 219,362.

January experienced the smallest increase of the quarter, although it was also considerable and in double digits. Specifically, 226,599 travelers arrived from foreign airports, 10.2% more than those who landed in January last year, when 205,616 arrivals were recorded.
