The price of second-hand housing in Spain has registered an increase of 14.7% year-on-year during the month of July, standing at 2,471 euros per square meter, according to the latest idealista real estate price index.
This data also represents an increase of 5.1% in the last three months, of 1.4% compared to the previous month and the highest price of second-hand housing in Spain since idealista has records.
Meanwhile, in the Canary Islands the increase has been 17.2% compared to July of last year, so that the square meter has skyrocketed to 3,090 euros.
All the Autonomous Communities show higher prices compared to the previous year. Prices grew faster than in the Canary Islands in the Community of Madrid (24.4%), Murcia (19.3%) and the Valencian Community (18%).
After the Canary Islands, they increased by 17% in Cantabria, followed by Andalusia (15.2%), Asturias (13.5%), the Balearic Islands (13%), the Basque Country (10.8%) and Catalonia (9.8%).
Next, Castilla-La Mancha (4.5%), Galicia and Aragon (3.4% in both regions). The smallest increases occur in Extremadura, where sellers' expectations rose by 0.3%, Navarra (1.4%), La Rioja (2.9%) and Castilla y León (3%).
The Balearic Islands with 5,025 euros per square meter is the most expensive autonomous community followed by the Community of Madrid (4,359 euros). They are followed by the Basque Country (3,263), the Canary Islands (3,090) and Catalonia (2,632). On the opposite side of the table we find Extremadura (979), Castilla-La Mancha (982) and Castilla y León (1,233 euros), which are the most economical communities.
