The Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Housing Institute, headed by Antonio Ortega, has definitively resolved the 2025 subsidy call for the construction of protected housing for private development for rental purposes, with a total allocation of two million euros.

The resolution grants aid to two developers until the available credit is exhausted. Firstly, a subsidy of 1,097,632.20 euros is granted to the company Viviendas Gran Canaria 2025 S.L.. Likewise, aid of 902,367.80 euros is allocated to the Municipal Company of Housing and Services of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, S.A.U. (MUVISA).

These actions are part of the Executive's strategy to increase the supply of affordable rental housing, fostering public-private collaboration and facilitating access to decent housing at affordable prices, especially in urban areas with the greatest housing pressure.

With this call, the Canary Islands Government reinforces its commitment to a rental-oriented housing policy, aligned with the Canary Islands Housing Plan and aimed at responding to one of the Archipelago's main social challenges: guaranteeing effective access to housing for citizens
