La Graciosa has 89 vacation homes per 100 inhabitants, the highest rate in the Archipelago. This was revealed by the study Distribution and concentration of tourist accommodation in the Canary Islands, prepared by the CajaCanarias-Ashotel Tourism Chair of the University of La Laguna in collaboration with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Regional Government.
Specifically, the eighth island has 640 vacation home places in a population of 731 inhabitants. Meanwhile, Lanzarote has 28,001 beds in a population of 159,000, according to the General Statistical Registry of the Regional Executive. Or what is the same, an average of 18 homes per hundred residents.
By islands, Lanzarote is the third island in the Canary Islands that offers the most tourist accommodation, including hotels, apartments and tourist homes. Only behind Tenerife (more than 200,000 places) and Gran Canaria (145,000). The island of volcanoes is around 90,000 places offered, according to the Tourist Accommodation Survey of the ISTAC and the General Statistical Registry of the Regional Executive.
The expansion of vacation homes has been at the center of social debate for some years now and already occupies 36% of the tourist accommodation offer in the Canary Islands. In the particular case of Lanzarote, more than 45% of the places offered are hotels; apartments account for 25%; and vacation homes, 30%.
Thus, the Canary Islands has an average of eight vacation homes per 100 inhabitants, being the second highest rate in Spain, only behind the Balearic Islands.

In the case of Tías, around 35,000 places are advertised. Most of them are distributed equally between hotels and apartments, with vacation homes being the third most frequent type of accommodation.
After that, the municipality of Yaiza offers 30,000 beds, about 18,000 from hotels; 2,000 from tourist apartments; and 10,000 from vacation homes.
