Bodega Vulcano received a gold medal for its Vulcano Dolce reference in the latest edition of the Lyon International Competition, held on March 22 and 23, which "marks another milestone for the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) Vinos de Lanzarote, positioning the island's wine product worldwide."
The competition brought together 1,200 tasters from around the world, evaluated 10,391 samples from 49 countries, highlighting the growing importance of the event as a showcase for the best wines, beers and spirits in the world.
The Regulatory Council values this award, since "it reflects the hard work and dedication of local producers, as well as the uniqueness of the Lanzarote terroir."
“Participation and success in competitions of this magnitude are essential for the promotion of the DOP Vinos de Lanzarote internationally. From the Regulatory Council we congratulate all the wineries that are achieving awards,” declared the president of the Regulatory Council of DOP Vinos de Lanzarote, Jorge Rodríguez.
“This succession of recognitions that the wine product from Lanzarote is obtaining increases the image, prestige and global perception of our wines and, consequently, their interest and demand in international markets,” he added.
The Regulatory Council defines Vulcano Dolce, from Bodega Vulcano, as "an exquisite sweet wine made with Muscat of Alexandria in the Lanzarote designation of origin. Resplendent in its amber color, it offers complex aromas of ripe fruit, vanilla, figs, honey, lychee and hazelnuts. On the palate, it stands out for its elegance, unctuousness and glyceric sweetness, reflecting the uniqueness and passion of its volcanic precedence."
