Unemployment falls in Lanzarote by 66 people in February, in all of the Canary Islands, by 88

Unemployment fell in the province of Las Palmas by 281 people, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife it rose by 193 people

Registered unemployment fell in Lanzarote in January by 66 people, a considerable decrease considering the data for the whole of Canary Islands, where it decreased by 88 citizens, according to the Lanzarote Data Center based on figures from the Canarian Employment Observatory (Obecan).

The fact that the decrease is similar in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands is because, by provinces, unemployment fell in Las Palmas by 281 people, while it rose by 193 people in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

By Lanzarote municipalities, unemployment fell mainly in Arrecife, which with 68 fewer unemployed remains at 4,040 unemployed.

It also fell in Yaiza, where there are 20 fewer unemployed to a total of 599 people registered in unemployment records, and in Teguise, where it decreased by 8 people to 968 unemployed. 

In Tinajo, five fewer people were counted in a situation of unemployment to the current 327 unemployed. In Haría there were no changes, it remains with 312 unemployed.

Unemployment increased in Tías (23 more unemployed) to a total of 874 people and in San Bartolomé (six more unemployed) to a total of 915 people in a situation of unemployment.
