The Insular Council of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has made public the approval of the regulatory bases and the call for various selection processes to fill a total of 30 positions in its staff, to which the general citizenry may apply through the open access turn.

The resolution, ratified by the CEO of Human Resources, Miguel Ángel Jiménez Cabrera, opens the procedure to fill vacant positions under the regime of career civil servants and permanent workers through the competition-opposition system.

In the area of civil servants, the insular institution offers a range of technical and administrative positions. For Subgroup A1, five positions for Industrial Engineer and two for Biologist are announced, reserving one of the vacancies in both cases for the disability turn.

Subgroup A2 includes four positions for Administrative Management Technician and three for Technical Architect. The administrative and technical offer is completed in Subgroup C1 with four positions for Auxiliary IT Technician and one position for Auxiliary Photography Technician.

On the other hand, the call includes positions under the permanent worker regime intended to strengthen healthcare and social care on the island. In this block, one position for Doctor, belonging to Group 1, is offered, along with a significant contingent of eleven positions for Caregiver, classified in Group 5 of the staff.

The selection process will combine an opposition phase, which will represent 60% of the final grade through theoretical exams and practical case studies, and a competition phase that will value the remaining 40% for professional merits and the applicants' training.

The registration period for all vacancies will be 20 working days from the day after the publication of the extract of the call in the Official State Gazette, with applications being processed exclusively online through the electronic headquarters enabled by the Council.

In parallel to the employment offer, the insular corporation has approved an extra economic injection to support the training of the island's students during the 2025/2026 academic year.

The allocation intended for travel grants for those pursuing higher vocational training cycles, degrees, or master's degrees outside of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has increased by 240,000 euros, reaching a total allocation of 884,000 euros. Likewise, the general call for scholarships for official studies has added an additional 60,000 euros, raising its total budget to 816,000 euros.
