Qraneos SL is one of the ten companies benefiting from the subsidies granted by the Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture of the Canary Islands Government for innovation projects in strategic areas of the Expanded RIS3, co-financed by 85% by the European Union through the FEDER Canarias 2021-2027 Program.
With this aid, the company will carry out the project ‘VECA-EPI – Portable System for Detecting Invisible Risks in Work Environments’, an innovative solution aimed at reinforcing workplace safety through advanced technologies
VECA-EPI consists of the development of an intelligent Personal Protective Equipment, capable of monitoring in real-time the exposure of workers and equipment to **toxic gases, noise, particles, temperature, humidity, or other dangerous environmental agents**. The device integrates multiple **sensors** into a single configurable wearable, connected to a central platform via wireless technology
The system incorporates artificial intelligence to analyze risk patterns, anticipate dangerous conditions, and issue immediate alerts, thus contributing to the reduction of accidents and the prevention of occupational diseases.
The grant awarded amounts to 198,093 euros and the project will have an execution period of 18 months, between July 2025 and December 2026.
VECA-EPI aligns with the priority health and well-being areas defined in the Expanded RIS3 Strategy, contributing to the advancement of technological solutions that improve quality of life and occupational safety in the Canary Islands
