Arrecife will premiere in the first months of 2025 two new passenger terminals destined for the reception of cruise passengers, by the company Global Ports Canary Islands, which was awarded the administrative concession for the management of these terminals.

The first will be on the Naos dock (next to Marina Lanzarote) and will be distributed on a single floor of 1,106 square meters. It will provide services for transit and home port operations, focused on operational efficiency and improved safety.

The second terminal will be in Los Mármoles. It is a modular installation of 556 square meters with capacity to provide service to up to three ships simultaneously and will be accompanied by another satellite cruise building of 426 square meters that will offer auxiliary services to both passengers and crew.

The company Global Ports Canary Islands was the winner of the tender for the exploitation and management of passenger terminals in the state ports of the province of Las Palmas. Thus, it will simultaneously execute these buildings in the ports of Arrecife, Puerto del Rosario and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The mayor of Arrecife, and member of the Board of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, Yonathan de León Machín, expresses his satisfaction for the launch of this terminal building in the capital of Lanzarote. The mayor has closely followed the progress of the works.

For the mayor, this investment of the company that won the tender, joins other improvements and actions provided by the Port Authority of Las Palmas, where it is expected to soon conclude the construction of the south dike, next to the cruise dock in the area of Naos. Yonathan de León has remarked that currently works for more than 15 million euros are underway in the port area of Arrecife.

Arrecife is the fastest growing port in the Canary Islands during 2024, according to data from the Port Authority of Las Palmas. Between the months of January and April of this year registered an increase of 10.49% in the arrival of cruise passengers. In the accumulated of the first quarter Arrecife has received 265,475 passengers.
