The Federation of Technicians and Professionals of Health (FTPS) has denounced that in the UTE Lanzafuer, responsible for five years of the ambulance service of Lanzarote, "workers exceed the working day" in the Collective Agreement by 72 hours per year. Thus, it has assured that they reach 1,872 hours, instead of the 1,800 established.

According to the statement issued by this union, "in order to receive their full payroll", the Technicians in Sanitary Emergencies (TES) of the awarding company "must perform an average of 168 hours per month" to collect their full salary.

In addition, it has accused the company of applying a "rule of three" to those who decide to perform "an extraordinary day not receiving the full amount, so that it retains from three to nine hours of that day, depending on whether the month has 30 or 31 days". These retained hours must be paid at the end of the year, as reported by the company in November 2024, but professionals have not received this salary, nor the amount of previous years.

In turn, he pointed out that the UTE Lanzafuer has stipulated a day of 1,872 hours per year, 48 of them to be carried out in compensation for the days of free disposal, which, according to a ruling of the Supreme Court, "must be recovered; in this way, the awarding company forces to recover them before knowing if the professional is going to spend those days without option to be recovered once the worker enjoys them".

“To this situation, we must add that the Works Council has been fighting for the delivery of the annual tables for five years, obtaining as a response from the awarding company that these tables are not mandatory, despite the fact that the agreement establishes their delivery to each worker. This breach of the rule harms workers in their reconciliation of work and personal life", they have indicated.

Finally, from FTPS in Lanzarote they have indicated that they have decided to "continue fighting to end the violation of rights that UTE Lanzafuer systematically performs against its professionals”.
