A driver lost control of his car, went off the road and, after hitting a wall, it caught fire, according to the Emergency Consortium. The two occupants of the vehicle were able to get out quickly and were attended to by health personnel at the scene, and it was not necessary to transfer them to Molina Orosa.
The accident occurred around 11:59 PM this Tuesday, September 15, in Tabayesco, on the Chafariz curve, in the municipality of Haría.
After being alerted by CECOES, Civil Guard agents, an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service, and firefighters were dispatched.
The firefighters extinguished the flames by applying water and foam, working on the source of the fire until it was completely extinguished. Once the incident was controlled, they inspected the vehicle and checked for possible hot spots, ruling out the risk of reignition.
Subsequently, they removed the vehicle from the roadway and placed it in a safe area to restore safety and traffic conditions. The area was cordoned off and the roadway was cleaned, removing debris and elements resulting from the collision.
For their part, the Civil Guard agents regulated traffic and carried out the corresponding accident report.
