Between 8 and 80 percent of the workers in the island's institutions have supported the general strike this Thursday morning, according to reports from the town councils themselves and the Cabildo.
The councils with the highest follow-up have been those of Haría, with 80 percent of nearly 90 employees, and Tías, with 70 percent of 150 workers.
Meanwhile, although the unions put the follow-up of the strike at 70 percent in the Yaiza Town Hall, the institution claims that the strike has been supported by 56.5 percent. Specifically, of 230 workers, 130 have participated in the strike. According to the Town Hall, these figures do not include councillors or the Local Police.
In Teguise, the follow-up has been 36 percent, out of a total of 217 workers, while in Arrecife the follow-up has been 35 percent of approximately 460 employees. In the Tinajo Town Hall, only 20 percent of employees have not attended their jobs this Thursday, out of a total of 140.
The Town Hall with the fewest workers joining the general strike has been San Bartolomé where, out of approximately 200 workers, only 8 percent have supported the call.
In the Cabildo of Lanzarote, 35 percent of 739 workers have gone on strike, according to data from the Human Resources department of the island's institution.
In the Tourism area of the Cabildo, 60 percent of the morning shift staff have joined the strike. About 40 percent have done so in the Tourist Board.
As for the Tourist Centers, the Mirador del Río, the Monumento al Campesino and the Jardín de Cactus have been 100 percent operational. On the other hand, in Jameos del Agua the visit to the center and the store has been operational, and in the Cueva de Los Verdes and Montañas del Fuego only the routes already organized. In the Castillo de San José only the MIAC has been operational and the restaurant service closed.
