The Canary Islands Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators (ACAVyT) has made a monetary donation with the aim of contributing to reactivate the travel agency sector of the Valencian Community that has been severely affected by the DANA that hit the region last October.

The amount raised amounts to 5,650 euros and has been managed through the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV) and the Foundation of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE).

Ignacio Poladura, president of ACAVyT, through several telephone conversations, conveyed to the president of the Valencian Business Association of Travel Agencies (AEVAV), Miguel Jiménez, the entity's willingness to collaborate in everything they required to alleviate, as far as possible, the loss of employment and the interruption or paralysis of their business activities.

"We want to be a support, not only financial, but also in advice or even emotional support. We have always been a united sector and in a situation as devastating as this, travel agencies from all over Spain are positioning ourselves to contain those who are having the worst time. We will work together so that they can emerge strengthened," concluded Poladura.

The Canary Island agencies that have collaborated in this solidarity campaign have been Viajes Divertour, Viajes 5 Océanos, Aritours, Viajes Las Palmas Travel, Viajes Parque, Viajes Herbania, Viajes Tenmar, Viajes Texina, Viajes La Alegranza, Arroba Travel, Viajes Insular, Viajes Guía Tour, Factoría de Viajes Tres60 and Viajes Kudlich. In addition, two partners of the association have joined: the wholesalers Canarias Viaja and Beway.
