The expansion of the port of Playa Blanca, a project executed by the Puertos Canarios entity, which reports to the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing of the Government of the Canary Islands, will provide 155 new berths for sports boats in the fishing dock area.
The port expansion works, 85% co-financed with European ERDF funds, have improved the facilities of the fishing dock which, in addition to gaining space, will offer greater comfort to its users.
Thanks to the space that has been gained in the port, new spaces for boats will be made available to interested parties, once the work is completed and delivered in the coming months, and the possibility of processing an application for mooring, launching or anchoring services for sports boats, which do not have commercial use.
"Puertos Canarios will publish a call for applications for these new mooring spaces when the new port is completed and delivered, which will follow the approved procedure and will have maximum transparency," says the manager of Puertos Canarios, Manuel Ortega.
The requests, which will be made online through the Puertos Canarios website, must be for a minimum of six months and a maximum period of 4 years, renewable every six months until the established period is exhausted unless the owner renounces or fails to comply with the obligations.
Ortega points out that the commitment to a digital system to carry out the requests will give more agility to the process and comfort to the user. "What we are looking for is that anyone who wants to have access to the new berths in the port of Playa Blanca can do so quickly and with the guarantee of having at hand the rules and criteria to have a place for their sports boat in the dock," he adds.
