The arrival of cruise passengers to Lanzarote grew by 63% in April

Although only 8,314 cruise passengers disembarked in Arrecife last month, it is the highest figure recorded since cruises returned to operate on the island in November.

Although the figures for cruise tourism in Lanzarote, like tourism in general, are still well below those recorded before the pandemic, April saw a 63% growth in the arrival of cruise passengers to the island compared to the previous month. 

Specifically, according to provisional data from the Las Palmas Port Authority collected in the Cabildo Data Center, 8,314 tourists arrived aboard a cruise ship to the port of Arrecife last month compared to 5,093 in March.

In fact, the figure recorded in April is the highest since cruises returned to operate on the island in November. At that time, only 2,196 cruise passengers disembarked in Arrecife and, although this figure rose to 7,208 in December, it fell to 4,355 in January, dropping to 4,044 in February. 

In the accumulated of this 2021, there have been 21,806 tourists arriving on a cruise to the island, which represents a decrease of 84% compared to the previous year. And it is that, between January and April of 2020 were
