Lanzarote Airport has celebrated, with a commemorative cake, the tenth anniversary of the route with Manchester operated by the company Jet2.com, with a permanent base at the conejero aerodrome.
The event was attended by the island director of the State Administration, Juan Ramón Pérez, the airport director, Juan Carlos Peg, the Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ángel Vázquez Álvarez, the CEO of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society, Héctor Fernández, and the delegate of Jet2.com Canarias, Antonio Bravo.
According to Aena, for a decade the English airline has scheduled more than 6,500 flights at Lanzarote airport and served more than 2.5 million travelers. With origin/destination Manchester, the airline has transported more than 586,000 passengers from January to October 2018.
Currently, Jet2.com connects the island with nine destinations: Belfast, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London/Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle.
