Canary Ports has put out to tender the works for the construction of a new building of toilets and changing rooms in the port of Puerto del Carmen, in the municipality of Tías, Lanzarote. The action aims to reinforce the services available in this port facility and improve attention to users, professionals, and visitors.
The base budget for the tender amounts to 235,819.20 euros, including IGIC, and the planned execution period is four months. Interested companies can submit their offers until August 12, 2026, following the publication of the tender this July 23 on the Public Sector Contracting Platform.
The project foresees the construction of a modern, accessible, and functional building, with an approximate area of 80 meters square. The property will house separate toilets and changing rooms for men and women, as well as a toilet adapted for people with reduced mobility, in accordance with current technical and accessibility regulations.
José Gilberto Moreno, managing director of Puertos Canarios, highlighted that "this action responds to a specific need of the port of Puerto del Carmen and will allow us to offer more comfortable, dignified, and functional facilities for those who work, visit, or use this port enclave every day".
Moreno stressed that "the improvement of basic services is also part of the modernization of the regional port network. It is not just about large works, but about interventions that directly impact the quality of service and the user experience".
The design incorporates construction solutions adapted to the port environment, with high durability and low maintenance finishes. Among the planned elements are the exterior cladding with basalt stone, ceramic pavements and tiles, as well as thermal insulation systems aimed at improving the energy efficiency and comfort of the building.
