Canary Islands is present at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, one of the most important events in the sector worldwide. After the success achieved in the 2024 edition, the archipelago comes with an institutional and business delegation that reinforces its commitment to internationalization, attracting investment and projecting local talent.

The commercial mission, led by Proexca with the collaboration of the Canary Special Zone (ZEC) and other Canary entities, is made up of eight video game companies from the islands that are traveling to Japan to present their projects, establish strategic contacts and explore new business opportunities.

Specifically, the participating studios are: Drakhar Studio, Factoría de Innovación (Proyecto Foxter SL), Foxter Studio, Fundación Canaria Club Deportivo Tenerife, Fundación Canaria Unión Deportiva Las Palmas, MoonMana Games, Rising Pixel and Quantum Box Studio.

For the Deputy Minister of the Presidency and President of Proexca, Alfonso Cabello, the presence of these eight Canary companies in Tokyo, "twice as many as in last year's edition", demonstrates that the archipelago already has a solid ecosystem to continue growing in this strategic sector for the diversification of the Canary economy. "After several years of serious and rigorous work, we have managed to lay the foundations to become an international hub for this powerful and creative industry," he stressed after emphasizing that the Canary Islands seeks to continue advancing in this line in Japan.

With this same objective, before deploying its potential at the Tokyo Game Show, the Canary delegation headed by Cabello will also participate this Wednesday in the Spain Game Matsuri, an event organized by Spain that has established itself as a key meeting point for the video game industry in Japan. In fact, the fourth consecutive edition of the Matsuri will bring together more than 300 international participants, including developers, investors and top-level executives.

The presence of the Canary Islands in this strategic forum will maximize the visibility of the archipelago and strengthen its position as a creative and technological hub in the Asian video game creation market. The Canary companies of the delegation will have a special role, exhibiting their projects after Cabello's intervention in the official act.

The co-organization of the Spain Game Matsuri together with ICEX gives the Canary Islands an institutional visibility comparable to the Games from Spain brand, which represents a unique opportunity to present the competitive advantages of the territory: quality of life, unique tax incentives in Europe, reduced operating costs, advanced technological infrastructure and a mature, innovative and sustainable environment.
