The airline Binter has incorporated gluten-free and ovo-lacto-vegetarian menus in the onboard service, which can be enjoyed by passengers on their national and international routes.
These two new options, within its gourmet menus 'More Canarian and sustainable' that the airline offers free of charge to all passengers, must be requested by passengers at least 48 hours before the departure of their flight, through their travel agent or on the website, in the My Reservations option, where they will find the possibility to choose a special meal.
This is "a new service that represents a great novelty in order to satisfy the numerous passengers with specific dietary needs or special food preferences".
The gluten-free menu excludes any product made with wheat, flour, barley, oats, rye, bread and pastries (unless they are wheat-free), pastries and sausages. This option is only suitable for gluten intolerant people.
For its part, the ovo-lacto-vegetarian option is also called non-strict vegetarian, which does not contain meat, fish or seafood, but may contain products of animal origin, such as milk, butter, cheese or eggs.
In this way, the culinary offer of the company's differential service is expanded, which consists of five new gourmet snacks in which the ingredients of proximity are prioritized, highlighting the authentic flavor of the Canary Islands. In addition, breakfast options and a special rotation for children, called BinterPeques, are offered.
Binter's gourmet menus "are aligned with its environmental care policy, for which the airline has made changes to its packaging to minimize the use of plastics, with which it is expected to reduce approximately 15 tons of waste per year, more than one ton per month, in addition to reducing the weight on board".
