The airport manager Aena has approved the award of the private security service of the 46 airports and 2 heliports of the network in Spain for the next four years, leaving the Ilunion of the Canarian aerodromes for 159.9 million euros.

The private security of all the Canary Islands airports: Gran Canaria, Tenerife South, Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, César Manrique-Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera - will be in the hands of Ilunion Seguridad, the company belonging to the National Organization of Spanish Blind (ONCE), after winning a contract of 159.9 million, according to Aena this Friday in a statement.

The decision has been approved by the company's board of directors, which has opted for the competitive dialogue procedure for this tender, which, in its opinion, has made it possible to define the most appropriate model for the provision of the service, "guaranteeing efficiency and quality", and will have a value of 1,122 million euros, after achieving an average reduction of 4.3%.

In a statement issued this Friday, Aena explains that after several rounds of dialogue in which the bidders have been able to make their contributions to the design of the "optimal case" in matters such as the composition of the lots or the duration of the contract, it has ended up awarding the security services.
