The first Technological Innovation and Circular Economy Summit, which was held this Friday in Madrid, features a cast of experts at the highest level, including several Nobel laureates and the former President of the United States, Barack Obama. The objective of this Summit, organized by the Advanced Leadership Foundation, is to instruct, through conferences and workshops, 300 leaders selected for their ability to influence and promote the circular economy in their environment.
Among the 300 Spanish leaders, selected from almost 2,000 candidates, is the Lanzarote company MJC Ambiental, which promotes environmental education through social and cultural initiatives. Juan Carlos Jiménez, one of its managers, explains that he decided to embark on this new professional adventure following his company's motto, which alludes to the words of Gandhi: "Be the change you want to see in the world."
The concept of circular economy is linked to greater recycling and reuse of products to achieve a more sustainable use of natural resources and reduce the amount of waste generated by individuals and companies. In addition to its environmental and social impact, the circular economy generates new business opportunities and stimulates technological development.
MJC Ambiental, which operates from the Hub of Creative Industries and Cultural Tourism of the CIC El Almacén, has been organizing activities related to waste reduction, reuse and recycling since its inception. Now, after its passage through the Summit, the company plans to organize talks and training workshops focused on the circular economy both in Lanzarote and in other islands. Those interested in co-organizing any of these actions or participating in them, can contact the company through the email [email protected].
The Hub is a coworking space promoted by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Culture Area directed by Óscar Pérez, and aims to contribute to the development of business projects in the cultural field through an office infrastructure and a support program managed by the Chamber of Commerce.
