The restaurants of the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism are launching new menus this week.
The chefs and professionals of the restaurants of Jameos del Agua, Castillo de San José and Casa Museo del Campesino have dedicated themselves to the evolution of the gastronomic proposal, coordinated by the Lanzarote chef Orlando Ortega, who applies the knowledge and experience accumulated in dishes that are added to a menu that keeps intact the smells and flavors of the traditional recipes of the Centers.
The quality local product continues to be the main ingredient of the gastronomic proposal of the Tourist Centers. “We want to value the effort of our women and men in the primary sector and the work of our catering professionals with the evolution of an offer that preserves the essence of our cuisines and helps to understand a part of the history of this island”, explains the CEO of the Entity, Benjamín Perdomo.
Castillo de San José
Tradition and history go hand in hand in dishes that use contemporary techniques to enhance the flavors and contrasts that identify the cuisine of Castillo de San José. Starting this coming Wednesday, customers can enjoy dishes as suggestive as the Goat meat roll wrapped in sweet potato, the “Squid from the Castle”, the Canary tuna loin treated as a tataki, the Crispy taco of Canary pork and the already recognized “Manrique Fish”. The restaurant also offers a Tasting Menu and another for the little ones.
Casa Museo del Campesino
The Casa Museo del Campesino redoubles its commitment to be the "best exponent" of the traditional way of life on the island. To the catalog of local wine references, the most extensive on the island, is added a gastronomic proposal that maintains traditional dishes in that restaurant such as Sancocho, and incorporates others "with which to surprise the taste buds of our customers", such as the Delights of crispy fish and seafood in the Monument style, the Grouper sandwich accompanied by vegetables, wrinkled potatoes and house sauce, the Sirloin steaks with Monument sauce accompanied by Lanzarote vegetables and fried potato wedges and the Rabbit leg in salmorejo with yellow jable sweet potato puree and sauteed island vegetables. The restaurant also offers a Menu of the day.
Breakfast and brunch in the Cactus Garden
One of the great novelties of the new proposal of the Tourist Centers is to be able to have breakfast or savor a brunch in the magical natural environment of the Cactus Garden.
The menu of the restaurant of the rofera transformed by César Manrique proposes to have breakfast in the center, and incorporates the original way of eating mid-morning with a Brunch that will be served between 11:00 and 15:00 hours, and includes a unique proposal consisting of omelet, avocado and tomato, on toast; croissant, Canary rosquete, cured cheese, vegetable empanadilla, yogurt, granola and prickly pear, orange juice, malvasía and coffee.
The emblematic space maintains the nopal as the star product of its menu. Thus, you can continue enjoying the recognized Cactus burger, the Maki, the Vegan ropa vieja, the chicken rolls, the creamy croquettes, and the fresh cheese from Lanzarote and tender nopalitos in olive oil, among others.
