The first phase of the construction sector digitization plan shows that more than half of the companies in the sector have an insufficient degree of digitization.
The Minister of Economy, Elena Máñez, stressed the need for companies in the sector, regardless of their size, to digitize, as otherwise "they may be doomed to disappear."
María de la Salud Gil, president of the Association of Businessmen and Businesswomen Builders and Developers of Las Palmas (AECPLPA), encouraged the associated entities to digitize, since "there are a whole series of subsidies, aid and support for advice that can provide an enormous leap in quality for SMEs and self-employed people in the sector."
In addition, María de la Salud Gil highlighted the positive points of the digital transformation master plans, tools that have been created for companies that have immersed themselves in the project. These allow us to know "what steps they have to take to have complete control over their presence in the digital world."
Jorge Alonso, director of the cybersecurity and digital transformation company Velorcios Group, pointed out that this stage has served to "highlight the need to continue deepening specific actions for the sector", among them, he highlighted the creation of a training program for digital transformation aimed at business owners or managers, in addition to the creation of a Technical Office for digitization for the sector, among others.
At the presentation ceremony, Amparo Hernández, a member of the family business MH Reformas y Construcciones, was present, who highlighted all the tools she is discovering thanks to her personalized plan "and the correct use of the cloud, which allows us to have everything and at all times."
Santiago Báez, a member of the Technical Department of Construplan, also pointed out that thanks to the advice that the plan offers his company, they can face the virtual implementation "making fewer mistakes than in the previous digitization process of our company."
According to the schedule planned for the development of the plan, it is expected that next year the execution of the master plan of each company will be addressed, in 2024 they will try to create a technical office for Digital Transformation and, the following year, it is expected to have definitively constituted the 'Digital Hub of Construction', as an instrument for exchange and collaboration of all companies in the sector
