Just 10 years after its opening, the Juan Padrón Group opted for the integral reconversion of its Playa Blanca Shopping Center, promoting an investment in the municipality of Yaiza of around 3,000,000€ and nearly 100 new direct jobs, in addition to the multiple contracts made to local suppliers for the conditioning of the facilities. These figures include the investments of the establishments that make up the new commercial and service offer of the Shopping Center.
The reconversion ends after 1 year of work and commercialization, with the satisfaction of having prestigious international brands that in more than 50% open their first store in the municipality of Yaiza, offering its inhabitants and tourists the opportunity to enjoy the best fashion, food and services in an unparalleled environment.
The Rubicón Shopping and Leisure Center has a constructed area of 16,000m2 distributed over two commercial floors and a basement floor with 250 parking spaces. Its commercial area is 7,000 m2 divided into 37 premises and terrace areas. Springfield, Punto Roma, Max Sport, Plus Car, Punto Cero, Women Secret, Fund Grube, Encuentro, Hiperdino, Damien Patisserie, Nara Camicie, Play Ground, Bowling, Cubalava Car Wash and Rubicón Minigolf initially make up this commercial offer that in a few months will be completed with more fashion and restaurants.
Rubicón Shop&Fun, after the remodeling, has become a new center, with modern facilities suitable for the environment, with easy access and a commercial offer adapted to the existing demand. The building is presided over by a large Exterior Plaza of more than 1,000m2 that connects the Playa Blanca promenade with the Shopping Center. Plaza that will become a meeting and recreation place for visitors and customers in an unbeatable environment such as Rubicón, a quality tourist enclave and a benchmark in Lanzarote.
Its architect, Sergio González-Jaraba (Jaraba Arquitectos), clearly opted for one of the main objectives of this reform: the opening of the building towards the sea and the Promenade, eliminating part of the annex building that hindered routes and visibility of the main building, in addition to the modernization of facilities and updating of the image to the quality environment in which it is located.
The remodeling of the Rubicón Shopping and Leisure Center is the first major private investment project that has been launched after the approval of the General Urban Planning Plan of Yaiza and it is a priority for the Juan Padrón Group to turn it into an example of improvement of facilities in a tourist area, as well as a commercial benchmark in Playa Blanca.
The Juan Padrón Group is a Canarian business group, solidly established in the archipelago and in the Balearic Islands. Leader in the recreational and leisure sector, where it has extensive experience, it also develops its activity in other sectors such as hospitality, restaurants and the real estate sector.
With more than 1,200 employees, the Juan Padrón Group continues the legacy of its founder, D. Juan Padrón Marrero, a visionary and tireless entrepreneur known for his constant desire to invest in the islands through his companies.
All these improvements are included within the growth plans that the Juan Padrón Group plans to undertake in all its centers and business areas, modernizing and professionalizing without losing the spirit of its founder.
