La Voz de Lanzarote starts 2022 with the launch of Ekonomus.es, its new economy and business website, which will include economy and business news of interest to the public of Lanzarote, as well as thematic sections for tourism, employment and housing.
Ekonomus aims to become a new communication tool for Lanzarote companies, contributing its grain of sand to transmit knowledge and information in the island's economic sphere, taking advantage of the digital leadership of La Voz de Lanzarote.
According to Pablo Muzás, CEO of Lanzarote Media, "we believe that there is a gap to be filled, in which Lanzarote companies can receive specialized information of their interest and express their news and success stories, in the different branches that make up the island's economy. We are especially interested in the stories of innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability that are developed on the island. We want to open an information space for sectors as important as tourism or for issues as important as employment or housing".
The new website is now accessible at the web address ekonomus.es and through the content menus of lavozdelanzarote.com. Subscribers will be able to access a free weekly newsletter with the highlights of what has been published throughout the week.
"We would like to consolidate Ekonomus as a reference communication platform for Lanzarote's business community, which will be able to transmit its news and communicate its offer of services. Also for the public interested in information of local economic component, which so affects our lives", added Muzás.
Why Ekonomus?
Xenophon wrote in 362 BC what is considered one of the first treatises on economics. In the form of a dialogue between Socrates and Critobulus, he discusses the concept of wealth, linking it to well-being and worth, not only to the fact of possessing. In "The Economics of Xenophon", the figure of the Economist is ennobled, whose task is "at the cost of sleepless nights and work, to increase the house (the goods) that have been entrusted to him". The economist is compared to professions as important and fundamental as the blacksmith, the carpenter or the architect and economics to medical science. The first premise of the economist should be "moderation in spending", advocating that the wealth generated should not be spent but saved in order to increase the properties of the "house".
