This test allows you to know the values of IgM antibodies, markers of recent infection that are detected in 90% between days 4-7 of infection, increasing until day 14 and then beginning to decrease, and IgG markers, which on the contrary, are antibodies that are detected with an average of 8 days post infection and increase for 3 weeks until they begin to decrease gradually, allowing us to see the evolution of the infection as well as the recovery phases.
The sensitivity and specificity of IgM + IgG serological tests against SARS-Covid-19 combined is close to 100%, which is why the evaluation of IgG together with IgM is recommended to make a joint assessment and increase the degree of sensitivity.
