For the fifth consecutive year, the Regulatory Council celebrates 'Malvasía, Lanzarote Wine Week'. From November 4 to 10, lovers of this iconic product of the Island will be able to enjoy a complete program of activities, which will close on Sunday coinciding with the European Day of Wine Tourism.
This action, which was created with the aim of praising the work of this sector in Lanzarote, this year also pays tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Denomination of Origin.
The starting signal for this new Malvasía Week will be given on Monday, November 4, by the Enogastronomic experience: vegan delights. The perfect pairing of four references from the Island and the vegan cuisine proposal from The V Factor restaurant will delight those attending this activity at the Castillo de San José.
The next day, the Lanzarote artist Rufina Santana will open the doors of her studio in San Bartolomé to celebrate the Enoartistic Workshop. In it she will teach a masterclass, where the Tinto de Bodegas Rubicón will be in charge of giving color to the students' works.
The middle of the week will once again be dedicated to the heroes of the Lanzarote wine landscape: the winegrowers. The Casa-Museo del Campesino will once again host the emotional Meeting of Winegrowers, in which this year the second installment of the documentary 'Wines of Lanzarote, a story to tell' will be screened.
Training will also be part of this Malvasía Week. Thus, Dr. Francesca Fort, coordinator of the Viticulture Biology Area of the Enological Technology Research Group (TECNENOL) will give a talk on Thursday, November 7, entitled: "Volcanic Malvasía, ready to face Climate Change?".
Friday will be a magical night with a special edition of Once upon a vine? Different rooms of Bodegas Rubicón will host the exciting stories narrated by Vicki Dos Santos and Cristina Temprano. A storytelling for adults that will be paired with different references from the winery.
The closing will arrive on Sunday, October 10, with the well-known Wine Route. On this occasion, the bus full of wine lovers from the Island will stop at the La Geria, El Grifo and La Florida wineries. In the latter, attendees will enjoy a cocktail enlivened by the Pa'l Porrón band.
From the Regulatory Council they remind that the capacity for each of the activities is limited and that tickets can be purchased at the headquarters of the Regulatory Council (C/ Arrecife, Nº 9, 35550, San Bartolomé, Lanzarote).
