The Cumbre Vieja volcano has been especially virulent during the early hours of this Sunday, creating a river of fire that advances without opposition, taking with it entire neighborhoods such as El Callejón de La Gata and what remained of Todoque, in addition to practically wiping out the industrial estate of Los Llanos de Aridane.
La Palma has thus dawned with an even more Dante-esque image, after another part of the northern cone broke off the night before. The lava flow continues its advance through the north, reaching the Todoque pharmacy and the few buildings that still stood in this neighborhood, which marks two weeks since its church collapsed.
Another of the tongues that advances further north, at a speed of about six meters per hour, has passed over practically the entire El Callejón de La Gata Industrial Estate during the early hours of the morning. At around three in the morning, the lava was at the gates of the Los Llanos de Aridane Clean Point, according to sources from the emergency teams working at the site.

Another of the neighborhoods that has been affected by these new tongues, which began to originate during the early hours of Friday to Saturday due to a fracture in the north of the volcano, is El Callejón de La Gata. The more than thirty homes that had remained standing after the passage of the main lava flow were swallowed up in recent hours by the solidified magma, as confirmed by the same sources.
If it continues with its natural course, the lava could continue this Sunday between the mountains of Todoque and La Laguna to find a new path towards the sea through Las Mulatas, where there is a large expanse of banana plantations.
Several residents of La Laguna, meanwhile, have spent the night awake at the possibility of an eviction due to the threat posed by the tongue that is already located in the lower part of the industrial estate.
