The Ministries of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 and Inclusion, Social Security and Migration have signed this Monday an agreement with the Asylum Agency of the European Union (EUAA) to receive technical reinforcement in the face of situations of greater migratory pressure and to improve the reception of migrants.

The Government has informed in a statement that within the framework of this agreement a three-year Operational Plan will be developed in Spain, which will last until 2026, with which it is intended to "strengthen capacities in the area of asylum and to have technical reinforcement in the face of situations of greater migratory pressure".

In this line, for the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, working with the EUAA will guarantee that the Spanish reception centers "comply with the best international standards".

Among the measures contemplated in the plan, the expansion of the number of people deployed to evaluate and monitor the procedures for assistance and reception of migrants, as well as to "strengthen" the processes of data management, financing and development of new reception centers.

On the other hand, the agreement seeks to improve the capacity of the authorities in the field of reception of unaccompanied minors in the Spanish territory, to ensure better protection of these children and young people through training and professional development.
