Sánchez will demand more EU aid for migratory control and will accelerate the new immigration regulations

“We must choose between being an open and prosperous country or a closed and poor one,” says the president, who accuses the PP and Vox of instilling “hatred” about this phenomenon.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Wednesday that he will ask the European Commission to bring forward the entry into force of the European migration pact to the summer of 2025 and not in 2026, as planned.

He did so during his appearance in Congress to report on immigration issues a few days after the PP suspended negotiations with the Executive to reach an agreement on the binding reception of migrant minors, precisely reproaching the Government for having rejected European aid in the field of migration.

In his speech, Sánchez referred to the issue of minors, addressing directly the parliamentarians of the PP, whom he asked to “assume their responsibility”, stop confronting on this issue and support the reform.

The head of the Executive has also announced that next month he will take to the next Council of Ministers the reform of the immigration regulations, which will serve to speed up procedures and incorporate new figures of roots, and the implementation of a National Plan for Integration and Intercultural Coexistence.
