The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will travel this afternoon to the Canary Islands due to the start of an eruption in the Cumbre Vieja volcano, in the municipality of El Paso, and will postpone his trip to New York that was scheduled for this Sunday.
"I am currently heading to the Canary Islands, given the seismic evolution, to learn firsthand about the situation in La Palma, the coordination of the device, and the activated protocols," the leader of the Executive announced via Twitter.
In addition, he has announced that he is postponing his trip to the United States to attend the UN General Assembly, which was scheduled to begin this Sunday.
