Sánchez conveys "much encouragement" to Torres, "one of the most brilliant public servants"

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has wished the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, "much encouragement" after he announced this Sunday that he has cancer.

"Ángel Víctor Torres is one of the most brilliant and committed public servants I have ever known in my life. But above all, he is a generous and affectionate person, of immense human quality. Much encouragement, dear friend. We are all with you," Sánchez wrote on social media.

The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, has also wished his predecessor in office "much encouragement and strength", as well as "a speedy recovery".

"As I have told you more than once in recent weeks, much encouragement and strength @avtorres. I am convinced that you will have a speedy recovery," Clavijo wrote on his X profile.

The Canarian Vice President and regional leader of the PP, Manuel Domínguez, also reacted to Torres' announcement, writing: "All my support and wishes for recovery to @avtorresp. Now, the most important thing is that you manage to overcome the disease as soon as possible."

Nueva Canarias also wishes the former Canarian president, with whom they co-governed in the last legislature, "all the success in his treatment against cancer and a speedy recovery. Encouragement to his family and @PSOECanarias".
