The deputy for Las Palmas and former Minister of the Government of the Canary Islands, Noemí Santana, has been designated as the new autonomous coordinator of Podemos in the Canary Islands after the primary process in which she was the only candidate after Milagros de la Rosa Hormiga was ruled out.
According to the data released this Friday by the party at the national level, since simultaneous primaries were taking place in different communities as well as on the list for the European elections in June, Santana's candidacy obtained 1,148 votes out of the 1,309 that were cast, 87.7% of the total.
For its part, 161 votes, 12.3% of the total, were blank votes, and there were no null votes.
In addition, the entire list that Santana took to the primary process, headed by Javier Bermúdez, Silvia Jaén and Manuel González, has obtained a position for the Citizen Council of the Citizen Assembly of the party at the autonomous level, with Bermúdez himself being the most voted in the procedure designed by the formation, in which it was scored from 1 to 24 depending on preferences.
Only Mila Hormiga herself, whose alternative candidacy was excluded, as they notified her, for failing to meet the parity criteria on the list, obtained a position on the Council, obtaining 8,738 points, outside of Noemí Santana's list.
In the primary process, the three members of the Guarantees Commission of the Citizen Assembly of the Canary Islands were also chosen.
In a message through social networks, the new autonomous coordinator of Podemos in the Canary Islands, who returns to office after Laura Fuentes' mandate, has thanked the people who have given her their support in the process.
"It is an honor to be the coordinator of Podemos Canarias again, I will work hand in hand with Javier Bermúdez and the other colleagues to have a strong organization with a future," the purple deputy wrote in her message on X, where she also took the opportunity to thank Laura Fuentes for her work these years.
