More than half of the Canary Islanders between 12 and 19 years old have received the full dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus, as reported this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands through a statement.

Specifically, 52.25 percent of young people of that age have received the full regimen, while up to 70.31 percent already have at least one dose.

The nursing teams of the Canarian Health Service (SCS) have administered 2,982,723 doses of vaccines, out of the 3,459,590 received, which represents 86.22 percent.

In the Archipelago, 82.79 percent of the target population (those over 12 years of age, amounting to 1,960,774 people) is already vaccinated against Covid-19, since there are 1,623,238 people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

This means that 86.76 percent of those over 16 years of age (which was the target population when the campaign began) have at least one dose.

In addition, the Canarian Executive specifies that "as of this Monday, 1,521,217 people who have received the full vaccination schedule had been immunized, representing 77.58 percent of the target population of the Archipelago". "If the initial target population (those over 16 years of age) in the Canary Islands is taken as a reference, 81.30 percent are already immunized," he points out.

Currently, groups 1 to 7 (residents and health and social health personnel in residences; health personnel; highly dependent people and main caregivers; vulnerable people; groups with essential functions such as teachers and police officers and people with very high risk conditions) are already vaccinated with two doses between 99.5 and 100%.
