The data from the Canary Islands Tourism Observatory in the report on Tourism Sustainability in the Canary Islands reveal that low cost airlines are the ones that dominate the skies of the Archipelago in international flights.

In particular, only the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair offered more than three million international seats between October 2022 and October 2023 for the eight Canary Island airports.

After it, the low cost airline Jet2.com offered 2.2 million seats; the TUI Group, another 2.2 million; Easyjet offered 1.6 million and Condor 0.9 million. In this sense, there are other companies such as Eurowings, Transavia, Corendon Airlines, Norwegian or Wizz Air. This is revealed by data from Cirium, taken by Promotur.

The aforementioned report reveals that the Canary Islands airports generate 18% of passenger arrivals to the entire country.

On the other hand, Lanzarote Airport was the tenth in Spain with the highest reception of passengers in 2022, according to data offered by Aena and collected in said report. Specifically, 3.7 million people arrived at the César Manrique Aerodrome.
