The councilor of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Evelyn Alonso, who has presented a motion of censure together with CC and PP to remove the socialist Patricia Hernández from the Mayor's Office, has filed a lawsuit against Ciudadanos (Cs) for violation of fundamental rights by notifying her of her definitive expulsion without complying with the communication and hearing procedures.
In an article published on her personal blog, she also advances that she has requested the precautionary suspension of her expulsion because she understands that she has been sanctioned for a "non-existent infraction" and "disregarding" the fundamental rights of association and judicial protection recognized in the Constitution.
In her opinion, the procedure followed by the orange formation "violates" the provisions of the statutes and regulations relating to the processing of the expulsion file and also implies the violation of the rights recognized in articles 6 and 22 of the Constitution.
"I also maintain that I acted coherently, respecting at all times the guidelines communicated by the party regarding avoiding government pacts or agreements to support governments with Unidas Podemos, situations that a year ago led to the expulsion of Matilde Zambudio --Cs councilor in the Santa Cruz City Council-- still pending resolution in the courts," she says.
In addition, she assures that she has "never" received a "concrete, express and unequivocal" order from the party leadership not to support a motion of censure against Patricia Hernández and understands that her expulsion is an "outrage" to her political rights and an "absolute lack of respect", with "personal disqualifications, even slanderous", which have "seriously" damaged her image.
