British James Nunan set sail in late March with his sailboat Kehaar to go around the world, or at least reach Brazil, but his family has not heard from him since last August 18 when he was in Gran Canaria. Before reaching the island, Nunan docked in Lanzarote in August after visiting several European countries.
According to La Provincia, the Civil Guard received a notice from Maritime Rescue informing of the presence of a boat adrift about fifty miles south of Gran Canaria. When they intercepted it, it was empty, there was no trace of James Nunan or part of his belongings such as his passport. The only occupant was Thumbelina, the dog with whom he was traveling, who remains in good condition and under the care of a protector.
Since the beginning of the trip, the British man was in contact every day with his mother and even did live broadcasts on his social networks narrating his journey and showing the places he knew.
Since then, the agents of the Civil Guard have launched an investigation to locate him, who remains missing and without answering the phone. Likewise, the authorities are considering all the hypotheses: from suffering an accident sailing at night and falling off the boat to remaining somewhere in Gran Canaria alive.
