Canary Islands reports 12 deaths and 1,682 positive cases of Covid in people over 60 years of age in the last seven days

Currently, there are 317 people hospitalized with coronavirus in the archipelago, of which 25 are in the ICU and 292 are on the ward.

In the last seven days, the Canary Islands has added a total of 1,682 new positive cases of coronavirus among people over 60 years of age, which is the only population group that is currently being monitored.

In addition, the Ministry of Health has reported this Tuesday 12 deaths registered in the last week, of which nine occurred in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote. The deceased, aged between 63 and 94 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

The accumulated number of coronavirus cases among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to 52,928 people. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 630.51 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 323.03.
