Canary Islands registers a new record of Covid cases: 1,482 new positives in a single day

In the last few hours, the death of a 62-year-old woman in Tenerife has been reported, who suffered from previous pathologies and was in hospital.

The increase in positive cases of Covid in the Canary Islands continues to escalate and has broken for the second consecutive day the record of positives in a day, after registering this Thursday 1,482 new cases. In addition, in the last few hours, the death of a 62-year-old woman in Tenerife has been reported, who suffered from previous pathologies and was in hospital.

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 251.38 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 370.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 1,000 new cases, the highest number for the island in the entire pandemic, and already has 4,943 active cases; Gran Canaria has 342 more than the previous day and 3,437 active cases. Lanzarote adds 61 new positives with 317 active cases; Fuerteventura has 47 new cases, and 986 active cases. La Palma adds 24 new positives, so it has 124 active cases. La Gomera registers five new cases, so its active cases are 26. El Hierro adds three new positives and its active cases are 15.

Until this Thursday, a total of 2,523,642 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 12,327 correspond to Wednesday.

The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 112,392, with 9,848 active cases, of which 58 are admitted to the ICU and 263 remain hospitalized.
