Canary Islands registers 5,424 new positive cases of Covid in the last 72 hours and Health notifies four deaths

The Archipelago has 14,943 active cases, of which 32 are admitted to the ICU and 289 remain hospitalized

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported 5,424 new cases of coronavirus in the Archipelago since the last update made on Tuesday, March 15, of which 1,462 correspond to those notified in the last 24 hours.

During these three days, the Canary Islands has registered four deaths from Covid, two of them in Gran Canaria, one in Tenerife and one in La Palma. One of the deceased was 34 years old, while the rest were between 64 and 87 years old, and all of them had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

Until this Friday, a total of 3,362,204 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 20,853 correspond to the last 72 hours.

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 419.49 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 847.45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, since last Tuesday Tenerife has added 2,516 cases, Gran Canaria has 2,087 more, Lanzarote adds 227 new cases and Fuerteventura has 130 more than three days ago. La Palma adds 321 new positives, La Gomera has 111 new ones and El Hierro adds 32 new cases.

The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the pandemic is 317,903, with 14,943 active, of which 32 are admitted to the ICU and 289 remain hospitalized.
