Canary Islands registers 2,957 new positive cases of coronavirus and eight deaths

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands rises to 610.03 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the IA at 14 days to 868.54 cases

The Canary Islands has registered 2,957 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, a new record of infections that raises the total of accumulated cases in the islands to 125,835, while it has to regret the death of eight people, bringing the number of deaths to 1,104 since the beginning of the pandemic. The deceased are two in Tenerife and six in Gran Canaria, between 58 and 92 years old. All the deceased had previous pathologies and remained in hospital.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 21,595 active cases in the islands, of which 54 are admitted to the ICU and 301 remain hospitalized.

The Cumulative Incidence (IA) at 7 days in the Canary Islands rises to 610.03 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the IA at 14 days to 868.54 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

To date, a total of 2,620,521 PCR tests have been carried out in the islands, of which 19,086 correspond to the last 24 hours.

By islands, Tenerife adds 1,855 cases with a total of 62,320 accumulated cases and 12,987 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 45,819 accumulated cases, 766 more than the previous day and 5,975 active.

Lanzarote registers 161 new cases with 8,574 accumulated and 767 epidemiologically active; Fuerteventura has 6,416 accumulated cases, with 84 new cases and 1,462 active.

La Palma adds 57 new positives, bringing the total to 1,610 accumulated and 264 active. El Hierro adds 15 new positives, bringing its accumulated to 527 and has 48 active cases. La Gomera adds 19 new cases, bringing its accumulated to 566 and its active cases are 90.
