The Canary Islands has received the award for the best stand in the category of Institutions and Autonomous Communities awarded at Fitur 2025. The Canary Islands space, together with Cantabria and Euskadi, has been one of the award winners among the 806 exhibitors with their own stand representing 152 countries and regions.

“One of the most important tourism fairs in the world has once again recognized the great work of the Canary Islands Tourism team, which has made a cutting-edge, functional, sustainable and versatile design stand a reality,” says the Minister of Employment and Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Jéssica de León, who also thanks the work of TARS Design Studio, responsible for the assembly. “This Valencian company suffered the serious consequences of the dana, which left its facilities completely flooded, which did not prevent its professionals from demonstrating their resilience and talent by working in record time to provide our islands with the best stand, as has been officially recognized,” concludes the minister.

The Canary Islands has premiered this year a stand, co-financed with Feder funds, of 1,768 m2, up to 223 m2 more than in 2024. This is the space with the largest area of the pavilion in which it is located, which allows for different areas for information, business, presentations and enogastronomic revitalization.

The conference and presentation area that started in the previous edition of Fitur has gone from having a capacity for 30 people to reaching 120 people. In addition, this year there is a significant expansion of the area for radio stations and media, with a total of 16 tables for interviews and capacity for 64 people.

In addition, the space stands out for its versatility and the use of its surface, as the weekend will be completely transformed with new spaces to receive the public with a varied program of recreational activities.

Also noteworthy is the spectacular roof of the stand, a structure designed to evoke the majesty of the unique orography of the archipelago that, together with the soft shapes of the walls and counters, provide an organic appearance. Other state-of-the-art aerial elements are itinerant coloring LED tubes with movement that simulate a dance to the rhythm of the trade winds.

The graphic supports add up to more than 600 m2 and among them is a large central videowall in the form of a portico where videos with images of the islands are shown in which the changes of light and color are simulated throughout the day. In its back there is a natural green area with more than 200 plants.

The covers, furniture and walls of the stand are composed of easily removable and stackable pieces, considerably reducing the amount of space and weight to be transported. The two covers have been manufactured in natural poplar of sustainable origin, minimizing the carbon footprint of these since their manufacture is compensated with the planting of new trees. As for the furniture, it is made with recycled plastic from fishing nets and plastic bottles collected from the sea, among others.
