The islands have registered a total of 22 cases so far, of which 17 remain active and five have been discharged.

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands indicates that currently in the archipelago the active cases of coronavirus Covid-19 amount to 17, one of them is serious. In addition, this Sunday two patients from the group of Italian citizens who tested positive in Tenerife were discharged, so the number of discharges amounts to five in this community.

In this way, the Canary Islands has registered a total of 22 cases of Covid-19 so far, of which 17 remain active and five have been discharged.

In this sense, on the island of Tenerife there are 12 active cases, four from the same group of hospitalized Italian citizens, of which three are asymptomatic and one of them continues with symptoms. Thus, of the rest of the positives on the island, only one of them is hospitalized, while the others are in home isolation.

They add that the last case was confirmed on the morning of this Monday and is a direct contact of one of the people who was already in home isolation in Tenerife, as reported by the regional government in a statement.

As for the island of Gran Canaria, there are four active cases belonging to the same group of Italian citizens, two of them are hospitalized, one of them being serious but stable within her severity. Both had previous pathologies.

Regarding the island of Fuerteventura, in said territory there is also one case that is in home isolation.

The Ministry of Health points out that in all cases the study of close and direct contacts is being established, clarifying that the necessary measures adjusted to each situation will be adopted "always prioritizing safety and public health".

On the other hand, they point out that the restrictive measures of the Adeje hotel, on the island of Tenerife, end this morning, in such a way that the guests who have not left in the departure operation until that moment, will be able to leave it freely when their established surveillance period of 14 days ends.

 

Information on prevention, contagion and false concepts


On the other hand, it is recalled that the Ministry of Health maintains a free telephone line activated (900 112 061) from which a nursing team, under the coordination of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), attends to requests for information from citizens about prevention measures, possibilities of contagion and false concepts related to the virus.

Likewise, it is recalled the importance of people who consider that they may have symptoms related to the coronavirus (cough, sore throat, fever and feeling of shortness of breath) and have returned in the last 14 days from any of the risk areas or have been related to someone who comes from those points contact 112 avoiding going directly to the Primary Care centers or hospital emergencies.

In this way, the extraction of samples will be managed at home, although the population is requested to use this resource rationally and only when the above conditions are met. In this sense, 3,977 calls have been received since the beginning of this situation, of which 3,105 have been to the 900 112 061 line and 872 to the 112 line.
