The residents of the Titerroy neighborhood have been denouncing for weeks the appearance of cochineal on the trees of one of its streets, specifically on Santa María Street.
The Councilor for Parks and Gardens of the Arrecife City Council, Roberto Herbón, has confirmed to La Voz that "only three trees are affected". He adds that "the technician from the company Pre-zero has already come to visit the area, and they have told me that it has improved a lot since they fumigated last July," Herbón emphasizes.
"We will monitor the trees to see what can be done," he comments. "I will talk to the company again at the next meeting I have on Monday," he assures.
In addition, he urges the residents of Arrecife to "calm down": "The world is not going to end because of the cochineal, it will eventually come out," he reveals.
