A resident of Puerto del Carmen demands "a decent service" for people with disabilities on some of the beaches of Tías, such as Playa Grande. Last Friday, the man went to bathe and sunbathe on the beach with his electric wheelchair and had some access problems.

"The entrance board to the area for people with disabilities was higher than days ago," the citizen denounces. Given the circumstances, "two foreigners had to help me access the place," he adds with "shame."

Furthermore, it doesn't end here, "the pneumatic chair in the bathroom was broken," something that must have "been like that for several days," according to "the lifeguards" on the beach. "I feel disappointed again this year with that Department of Beaches," he complains.

He also adds that delving further into this issue, "there has been a brutal abandonment of the functions of the Department of Beaches, specifically, with precarious lifeguard services," he says. "There is also no toilet paper in the bathrooms, the cisterns leak water, thus generating a monthly expense that all citizens pay with our taxes," he highlights.
