“All the tourists come to see the church of San Ginés, and this is shameful”. This is how a neighbor has described the situation that exists in one of the emblematic places of the capital of Lanzarote: the Plaza de Las Palmas.
As can be seen in the video, the square is in serious deterioration, with the floor completely destroyed and the benches in poor condition.
In addition, according to the neighbor, there are currently four people living in the vicinity of the church of San Ginés, so you can also see the belongings of each of them, in addition to the clothes that they sometimes hang on the fences of the Arrecife City Council.
“I have called the Local Police many times alerting them to the situation, actively and passively”, says the neighbor, who hopes that the City Council will take action on the matter, both in the renovation of the Plaza de Las Palmas and in the search for a solution for the homeless people who live in the vicinity.
