Residents of El Islote criticize that they have been "15 days without a drop of water" in the town

Citizens point out that "there is no solution" to the situation. "Neither Canal Gestión nor the Water Consortium provide solutions to the problem for 4 years"

The residents of El Islote in San Bartolomé denounce that they have been "fifteen days without water", one of them commented this Tuesday to La Voz. "We don't have a drop of water", added the man.

Regarding the response of Canal Gestión about the cuts in the water supply, the residents criticize that "there is no solution" to the situation. "Neither Canal Gestión nor the Water Consortium provide solutions to the problem for 4 years", the neighbor laments.  

According to what the citizens reveal, previously "there was no problem since there was a pump in El Peñón", prepared to "pump the water", he assured. Although when COVID started, "Canal Gestión decided to close it because it had a lot of energy expenditure", explained the neighbor of El Islote.

Water cuts continue in five municipalities of Lanzarote

The company in charge of water management in Lanzarote, Canal Gestión, has reported this Tuesday morning more cuts in the supply on the island. Specifically, there are five municipalities of Lanzarote that suffer an interruption of supply in some of their towns. This is reported through its website. 

In the north of the island, the towns of Haría and Guinate do not have water this Tuesday. It should be remembered that last Monday, Máguez also had no supply.

In addition, Canal Gestión has announced water cuts in Los Valles in Teguise; in addition to the towns of El Cuchillo, La Costa and Tajaste in Tinajo. To which is added the town of San Bartolomé that also has no supply.

Meanwhile, in the south of the island the towns of Tegoyo and Tías are also without water.
