Residents of Costa Teguise have contacted La Voz to express their indignation at the accumulation of rubble that, they claim, is occurring in the green areas located between Malagueña, Tenderete, and Sorondongo streets, next to the town's school.

The residents have recorded trucks from the company in charge of the work "repeatedly and indiscriminately dumping large quantities of rubble and debris directly onto green spaces," deteriorating an area usually used for walking and commuting.

The residents' complaint is accompanied by videos and photographs taken in the area, which are attached to this information, in which it can be seen how the trucks load rubble on the plot and dump it in the green areas.

According to the residents, the dumping occurs in broad daylight. "What was a green area and a promenade for residents is becoming a rubble dump," denounce the residents, who consider it especially serious that this situation is occurring in the vicinity of a school and in an area of regular transit for families.

The residents demand that the Teguise City Council "act immediately, inspect the area, and clarify whether it is authorizing the creation of this new rubble dump with the corresponding license." And if not, they request that the necessary measures be taken to prevent further dumping and to oblige those responsible to remove the rubble and return the space to its original state. "It is not acceptable for construction work to use a green area as if it were a landfill," they state from the residents' group.

The residents also warn that, if no action is taken, the accumulation of waste "can continue to increase and end up consolidating an image of neglect" in a residential area of Costa Teguise. "Costa Teguise cannot pay the consequences of construction work. Residents should not have to find mountains of rubble where there were previously green areas and spaces for walking," they conclude.
