Several readers have contacted La Voz to denounce the insecurity they feel in different neighborhoods of Arrecife due to the continuous fires of garbage containers and cars that have been occurring in recent years.
And the past dawn, in Altavista three containers and a vehicle burned, which were completely charred. The firefighters arrived at the scene and managed to control the flames after approximately 50 minutes of intense work.
One of the residents who lives near where a container caught fire in Altavista was able to move it to the middle of the street so that the others would not burn. "You no longer live peacefully in Arrecife," he says.
Residents are asking for greater surveillance and more security measures to prevent these incidents from happening again in the future.
