A reader has contacted La Voz to report the danger posed by several unprotected iron rods located on Avenida de las Islas Canarias, in Costa Teguise, due to the renovation works of the bus stops.

According to the resident, "for a week now, the works next to the Pueblo Marinero have been stopped, with no machinery or personnel present, and there are corrugated iron rods without the plastic caps that are mandatory protections to prevent accidents to workers and pedestrians."

On the other hand, he criticizes that "there is no signage indicating to pedestrians and passersby on the avenue the alternative routes to cross the construction zones."

Likewise, he continues pointing out that "in the case of the stop next to the Local Police it would be very simple to signal a route along the internal sidewalk and, in the case of the other stop, just opposite, there is no alternative route or signage indicating to pedestrians, forcing them to avoid the works (which occupy the entire sidewalk) to invade the road with the consequent risk of being run over."

Faced with this, the reader describes as "lamentable the lack of supervision of the work by the staff of the Cabildo and contractor, and also by the staff of the Teguise City Council, which causes serious security problems."
